Enhancing Structures using MMT ( MultiScale Median Transform) in PixInsight

 Today, I will be talking about improving the details of galactic arms or nebula core using MMT. The general norm is to use Unsharpen mask, but it has a tendency to make things look out weirder than it should. Instead of talking about it, let me show you the effects of running a simple MMT transform to bring out the features in M101 Galaxy.

The MMT can be run iteratively, meaning on more than one occasion but do bear in mind that too much of something can be detrimental. Restraint is key in this. The settings for MMT are as follows :
